Klaviyo Developer App & Platform Integration Guide

Overview

This guide walks platform operators through the process of creating a Klaviyo Developer App and connecting it to their operator environment within the platform. Once configured, this integration enables customers to securely synchronize guest WiFi data collected through the platform with their Klaviyo account, allowing them to automatically build and maintain marketing audiences and subscriber lists. The guide covers developer app creation, credential configuration, integration setup, validation, and best practices to ensure a successful and reliable data synchronization experience for customers.

Prerequisites

We recommend that these tasks be performed by a website developer, IT administrator, or another technical resource familiar with your environment.

Before proceeding, please ensure you have:

• Collect your branded dashboard hostname from your Operator Customizations page
• Operator access to your environment.
• Access to a Klaviyo account with Developer App management permissions.

Step 1: Create and configure a Klaviyo Developer App

1. Login to your Klaviyo account
2. Navigate to Integrations
3. Using the drop down selector at the top, select Developers > Manage Apps
4. Click Create App
   1. How do you want to distribute this app?
      1. Select Publish to the marketplace
      2. Click next
   2. Set up OAuth
      1. App Name: Enter your desired app name
      2. Client ID: Copy this and save it in a notepad for use later in this guide
      3. Client Secret: Copy this and save it in a notepad for use later in this guide
      4. Click create to create your app and be redirected to your App settings page
5. Configuring your App
   1. Authentication Tab
      1. OAuth Information
         1. Redirect URLs: Using your branded dashboard hostname to replace the generic ones below you will need to enter two URLs
            1. https://dashboard.yourdomain.com/klaviyo/callback.php
            2. https://dashboard.yourdomain.com/manageEmailSync.php
         2. Click save
      2. Scopes
         1. Click Edit Scopes
         2. Select the following scopes
            1.  Accounts Read
            2. Events Read
            3. Events Write
            4. Flows Read
            5. Lists Read
            6. Lists Write
            7. Profiles Read
            8. Profiles Write
            9. Subscriptions Read
            10. Subscriptions Write
            11. Tags Read
         3. Click Save

Step 2: Configuring your Operator Customizations

1. Login to your Marketing 4 WiFi Operator user

2. Navigate to Operator Settings > Operator Customizations
3. Click the Branding tab
   1. Klaviyo Client ID:
   2. Klaviyo App Secret:
   3. You may leave all other settings in this area as their default values
   4. Click Submit

This completes the configuration of your Klaviyo developer app to your Marketing 4 WiFi enviornment. Your Client users can now configure Klaviyo sync rules to start sending their Guest data to their Klaviyo lists.
