Meraki provides a variety of tools and services that are intended to inform network administrators of the status and health of external RADIUS Servers. Some of these features are not supported by the Smart WiFi Platform, however the Meraki portal does contain information that can be used to diagnose the health of Guests logging into the platform through your wireless networks configured to the Smart WiFi Platform.

Not Supported

[ht_toggle title="Meraki RADIUS Authentication Server Email" id="" class="" style="" ] Meraki autonomously conducts their own status checks of configured RADIUS Servers that may result in you receiving an Email message like the example of the one provided below. These Email alerts are related to the Meraki checks and not a warning of Guest Authentication issues on your wireless network. The Smart WiFi Platform does not support these status checks as they do not contain the parameters the platform requires to identify the request and formulate a response.
The Meraki cloud is having difficulty connecting to your RADIUS servers at 52.23.46.139:1812, 52.207.192.243:1812 from IP address 158.115.159.149.

As described in the access control settings page, you must whitelist the following IPs as clients to your RADIUS authentication servers:
1.2.3.4
2.3.4.5
3.4.5.6
4.5.6.7
[/ht_toggle] [ht_toggle title="Meraki Portal Access Control RADIUS Server Test feature" id="" class="" style="" ]Inside the Meraki portal under the RADIUS section of the Access Control page for your configured Wireless Network, Meraki has a Test button that allows you to enter a Username and Password and click to " Begin Test" of the configured RADIUS Server. The Smart WiFi Platform does not respond to these requests. The requests do not contain information the platform requires to identify the request and respond. The Meraki portal will indicate the test failed, but the test does not match requests made by WiFi Guests using the network, which are working. We actively monitor the platform to ensure WiFi Guests are correctly authenticated. [/ht_toggle]

Supported

[ht_toggle title="Meraki Portal Wireless Login Attempts Log " id="" class="" style="" ]Inside the Meraki portal under the Wireless section there is a page called 'Login Attempts' that allows you to view up to the last 30 days of Splash Page authorizations for your configured network. This is a log of real Guest behavior on your network, any status other than 'succeeded' in the Authorization column would indicate a guest that did not connect through the splash page successfully.
