The following article describes how to configure your Smart WiFi account to offer Paypal Subscribe as an option when purchasing a Guest Plan. This guide assumes you have already configured your Smart WiFi hotspot to offer Guest Plans with Paypal as a Payment Processor. Paypal Dashboard

  1. Login to your Paypal account
  2. Click Sales > Subscriptions
  3. Click Subscription plans to view the Manage subscriptions page
  4. Click Create Plan
    1. Choose Product
      1. Click 'Create a Subscription Product' and complete the following fields:
        1. Product Name:
        2. Product Description:
        3. Product ID: Internal ID for your tracking. Can be left blank
        4. Product Type: Services
        5. Industry Category: Select your industry
        6. Product page URL: Can be left blank
        7. Product Image URL: Can be left blank
        8. Click 'Next' to create your Subscription product
      2. Select the Subscription Product you just created
      3. Click 'Next'
    2. Create Plan
      1. Select 'Fixed Pricing'
      2. Click 'Next'
      3. Plan Name:
      4. Plan Description:
      5. Click Next
      6. Currency:
      7. Charge a one-time setup fee?:
      8. Offer a trial period?
      9. Subscription Period: Unlimited billing cycles/ Limited billing cycles
      10. Price: configure your price and the billing interval you want
      11. Tax Calculation: Don't calculate tax
      12. How many missed billing cycles before a subscription is paused: Set your Missed cycles to the value you want.
      13. Turn on auto billing of outstanding payments: Your preference
      14. Click 'Next'
    3. Review and Save
      1. Review all the settings displayed on the page.
      2. When ready click 'Turn Plan On'
      3. Click the 'Do this later' button
  5. Now back on the Manage Subscriptions page
  6. Above the name of the plan you just created, you should see your Plan id. Copy this and save it for use later in the guide

  7. Now click the Developer link at the top of the page to view your Paypal Developer Dashboard
  8. Click the link to Apps and Credentials
  9. Click 'Create App'
  10. Give the app a name and click 'Create App'
  11. Now in your App you can see the following fields that you need to copy save for use later in the guide
    1. Client ID of the App
    2. Secret Key 1 of the App
  12. At the bottom of the App Details page click the 'Add Webhook' button
    • Webhook URL: Please contact support for your unique Webhook URL
    • Event Types: Under the Payments & Payouts section click the checkbox for Payment sale completed
  13. Press Save

 Smart WiFi Dashboard

  1. Login to your Smart WiFi account
  2. Using the navigation panel to the left select Client > Client Customizations
    1. Select the Payments tab
    2. Paypal Client ID: Paste the value collected in step 11.1 of the Paypal Dashboard section of this guide
    3. Paypal Client Secret: Paste the value collected in step 11.2 of the Paypal Dashboard section of this guide
  3. Press Submit
  4. Using the navigation panel to the left, select Network > Guest Plans
  5. Click the Edit Icon for the Guest Plan that you want to offer the Paypal Subscription Product as a payment option
    1. Enable PayPal Subscription Plan: Yes
    2. PayPal Plan ID: Paste the value collected in step 6 of the PayPal Dashboard section of this guide
  6. Press Submit
  7. Using the navigation panel to the left, select Network > Hotspots
  8. Click Edit on the hotspot that is offering the PayPal Subscription enabled Guest Plan Click the Options button under
  9. Press Submit
