Creating and managing guest vouchers

Use the Voucher Generator to create codes you can sell or give to guests. Vouchers let you offer Guest Plans with different connection times or speeds. Create a Guest Plan before generating voucher codes.

Choose the voucher type that fits how guests will connect:

  • Guest Plan Voucher: Provides one connection to a specific Guest Plan.
  • Value-Based Voucher: Provides a monetary balance guests can use toward a Guest Plan.

Create Guest Plan Vouchers

A Guest Plan Voucher is tied to one Guest Plan and can be used at any hotspot offering that plan.
  1. Open the Edit Guest Plan page and select Generate Vouchers.
  2. Name the voucher block. Choose a name that helps you identify who will receive the codes.
  3. Enter the No. of Vouchers you want to create, from 1 to 999.
  4. Set an Expiration Date if needed. Leave it blank for vouchers that do not expire.

You can create multiple blocks with different quantities and expiration dates. Expand a block to see its codes and whether they have been redeemed. Select Export to download the codes as a CSV file, or Delete to remove a block you no longer need.

Create Value-Based Vouchers

A Value-Based Voucher acts as a payment method for any Guest Plan offered at any hotspot in your dashboard. Its value can be less than or greater than the price of a Guest Plan. Guests can use it until its balance runs out or it expires.

  1. Go to Hotspot > Voucher and select Generate Vouchers.
  2. Name the voucher block so you can identify who will receive the codes.
  3. Enter the No. of Vouchers you want to create, from 1 to 999.
  4. Enter the monetary amount for each voucher in Value.
  5. Set an Expiration Date if needed. Leave it blank for vouchers that do not expire.

You can create multiple blocks with different quantities, values, and expiration dates. Expand a block to see its codes and redemption status. Select Export to download the codes as a CSV file, or Delete to remove a block you no longer need.

Set up the hotspot

On the Edit Hotspot page, enable Guest Plans as a login type and assign the appropriate Guest Plan to the hotspot. Then add the Sign in with Vouchers button to both the New Guest and Return Guest splash pages.

Before you make changes

- Deleting a Guest Plan deletes all voucher codes associated with it and removes the plan from its assigned hotspots.
- Changing a Guest Plan's values does not change the expiration date for a guest already assigned to that plan.
- A guest with an active Guest Plan who reaches the splash page can select Connect to use the remainder of their plan.
